False Creek North vs. South: Which Side Should You Bike?

One of the most common questions I get at the shop is: “Should we go left or right?” They are talking about the False Creek loop. Both sides are beautiful, but they offer very different vibes.

False Creek North: The Urban Experience

Starting from our location near BC Place and Science World, heading North takes you through the heart of the city’s glass skyline. You’ll pass through Yaletown, see the ferries buzzing across the water, and eventually hit the iconic A-maze-ing Laughter statues at English Bay. It’s vibrant, busy, and great for people-watching.

False Creek South: The Scenic & Artisan Route

If you head South, the path feels a bit more relaxed. You’ll ride past the Olympic Village (great for a coffee stop) and wind your way toward Granville Island. This is the side I recommend if you want to stop for a long lunch or browse the Public Market. The views looking back at the downtown skyline from this side are, in my opinion, the best in the city.

The Verdict?

Why choose? The full loop is only about 10km and takes roughly an hour on an ebike at a leisurely pace. It’s the perfect “intro to Vancouver” ride for anyone staying downtown.
